Sharing The Cure: Maryland Community-Based Program to Test and Cure Hepatitis C

The Maryland Department of Health through the Infectious Diseases Prevention and Health Services Bureau in collaboration with the John Hopkins University Division of Infectious Disease is organizing a provider training program on hepatitis C diagnosis and treatment. This provider training program is part of the Maryland Community-based Program to Test and Cure Hepatitis C.

There are two streams for the Spring cohort commencing on March 2, 2022. The virtual kick-off session will focus primarily on the following topics:
– Initial evaluation and staging of disease
– Treatment initiation and monitoring
– Current treatment strategies and monitoring, and
– Hepatitis C complications and other complications of late diagnosis
If you work with populations with high risk for hepatitis C infection, you may wish to sign up for the virtual kick-off sessions open to all providers including case managers, community health nurses, treatment navigators, counselors, and outreach workers. The full course is available only for Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Pharmacists. You may wish to share the course flyers with providers in your network.
