Maryland Hepatitis Summit

Viral hepatitis contributes to significant morbidity and mortality in Baltimore City and throughout Maryland. Although a cure is available, eliminating this disease has been a challenge. This educational activity will work towards eliminating viral hepatitis in accordance with the WHO call for elimination of hepatitis by 2030.
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the benefits of treatment of HCV in people with opioid use disorder
2. Identify new models of HCV treatment in incarcerated and other vulnerable populations.
3. Compare and contrast new models of targeted HCV screening and linkage to/retention in care for HCV treatment.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Maryland Hepatitis Coalition.
