The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) is currently refreshing its strategic plan. As part of these efforts, the Division is hosting listening sessions with community-based organizations on emerging trends and disruptors in HIV prevention that can inform the Division’s strategic direction and how it delivers on its mission. As a key collaborator in the state’s HIV prevention efforts, we believe it is important that community-based organizations have the opportunity to share their perspective and contribute to this strategic planning process.
The aim of these listening sessions is to answer three overarching questions:
- What practices and models exist that DHP can adopt to expand the reach of its work to improve health equity?
- How can DHP integrate responding to syndemics across its scientific and programmatic portfolio?
- What emerging innovations can DHP take advantage of to optimize its operations and programs?
We are asking for our health department colleagues to share this opportunity with the community-based organizations that you fund and/or partner within your jurisdiction! We hope that members of the community-based organization staff will join these sessions to provide input on these questions and related topics such as the status neutral framework, community engagement, and lessons learned from COVID-19.
Community-based organizations can choose to attend one of the following webinars:
- Nov 9, 2021 10:30 AM EST

- Dec 7, 2021 10:00 AM EST
